Tragicomedy telling of the trials and tribulations of a troupe of variety show artists, including the life and loves of three young women - Vera (Delia Scala), Margherita (Gina Lollobrigida) and Franca (Tamara Lees), all with different personalities but all eager to stand out in the entertainment world. After various vicissitudes, their lives are divided: for one success comes, for another true love away from the scenes, for yet another a tragic fate. Also with Aldo Fabrizi (also credited as a writer on the film) and a young Marcello Mastroianni.
