In French with English subtitles.

Long before James M. Cain's The Postman Always Rings Twice  was filmed by MGM, there were two intriguing foreign versions, one (unauthorized) from Italy (Ossessione) and the other from France. The French version, directed by Pierre Chenal, was titled Le Dernier Tournant and released in English-speaking countries as The Last Turning. Fernand Gravet fills the role of anti-hero Frank, who goes to work for crude but likeable garage mechanic Nick Marino (Michel Simon). Whipped into an erotic frenzy by Nick's sexy young wife Cora (Corinne Luchaire), Frank cooks up a scheme with her to bump off Nick for the insurance money.

The Postman Always Rings Twice as the first filmed version. It is wonderful to have this original French production in a good print with optional English subtitles.
Many thanks Movie Detective

5 of 5 Take The Turn and Leave The Jail of The Ombilical December 31, 2016
Reviewer: FRANCIS PICORIT from NANTES, Loire Atlantique France
This is a Black Diamond. It is a question of take a Good Turn and the way to leave the jail of the ombilic cord in the head. The feelings in the Movie situed in France, just before the war 1939-1945, is very dark and suspicious. Franck (Fernand Gravey) want to find the Freedom, the jail of the ombilic cord is everywhere,  maybe he find at The Last Turn ?... Who knows !
Great Movie, Great Interprétation of the Actors, Atmosphère Wonderful.
Thank you Pierre Chenal.
