Description

This is a region-free DVD-R without case or artwork.

Harry Steele (Charlton Heston) is an idealistic archaeologist determined to return an ancient Incan mask to the society from which it came. A greedy con-artist (Robert Young) has other ideas, though, and the two men race to fund an expedition to find the treasure, which has reportedly been buried by Spanish conquistadores somewhere in Machu Picchu. The con-artist (Young) seduces a beautiful tourist (Nicole Maurey) in order to reach his goal, leaving Steele (Heston) to locate the site through more honorable means. The location scenery in Secret of the Incas is gorgeous and at times breathtaking. Cinematographers Lionel Lindon and Irma Roberts give the audience views of the Andes and its environs that are simply stunning and that capture a genuine feeling of mystery and majesty. Also features the astonishing singing of Yma Sumac, a cult icon of the 1950s.

5 of 5 secrets of indiana jones........ September 14, 2018
Reviewer: peter from twickenham, middlesex England
i had to see this for yma sumac - then saw that the indiana jones industry had kept this hidden - rather than ripping it out of the archives to keep in plundering character (harry steele / indiana jones) (i don't recognise the harry steele character in your resume at all) - please keep it available! - i shall watch it again - the rating refers to its popular film cultural history importance

3 of 5 A movie from the mid-1950's June 12, 2016
Reviewer: Great Senior Aunt from Sun City, AZ United States
I saw this movie in the early 1960's. I was interested because of Yma Sumac. She had a minor part, still a beautiful voice. Charleston Heston had not yet become so popular when this movie was made. He play a type of character he's not known for....a bit sleazy. Not totally bad, but ...... His character, Harry, well, you wonder will he continue down the road of unsavory or be redeemed.
P.S. Received this movie in timely manner & as expected.

5 of 5 Secret of the Incas July 27, 2014

Charlton Heston...always "a bit over the top"...but we loved him. This is typical of his kind of film, prior to hitting it big with The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur!  Good color, to enjoy.
