A rare Bergman treat

I don't know why I enjoy watching people get slapped in the face, but I do. DVD came unmarked in a slip within a cardboard slip. Had On the Sunny Side printed on a little label. DVD worked great, subtitles and all. Menu included play, scene selection, and audio/subtitle(s) selection. The movie itself was typical Bergman fare: how many guys can she vamp? Three? That sounds about right. Every guy in this movie got slapped at least once (well, maybe not Lars Hanson, I can't quite remember). It's basically about how a poor bank clerk will handle living among the rich beach people. Did Lars Hanson, her finacee, get slapped? You'll have to tune in to find out!

Fun Comedic Drama

The quality of the images and subtitles in the movie are clear and smooth! The story takes a serious look at people's desires and motivations, but it does so in the form of a fun comedic drama. Here, Ingrid plays a newly wed woman who is taken out of her familiar lifestyle into a comfortable, lazy life of a wealthy wife. After a series of events, she finds herself wondering whether she married for love or for money. Only the ending tells us the answer, and it's worth the watch!
