In French with English subtitles. Also known as The Moment of Truth.

La Minute de Vérité stars Jean Gabin as happily married French physician Pierre. Upon treating a would-be suicide, Pierre finds out that his patient was once the lover of the doctor's wife Madeleine (Michèle Morgan). Confronting his wife with this information, Pierre is compelled to trace back the history of his 10-year marriage to find out what went wrong. Director Jean Delannoy combines some very perceptive views of the human condition with moments of unexpected shock and sensationalism. Otherwise, La Minute de Vérité is more straightforward and less laden with symbolism than earlier Delannoy works.

5 of 5 Gabin, Morgan... Nuff Said? July 12, 2018
Reviewer: Shawn from Washington
I bought this because Jean Gabin and Michele Morgan are dream, screen pairing.  Loved them in "Port of Shadows" and "Remorques", and they continue to be wonderful in this mature, thoughtful look at a marriage going through a rough patch.

Great looking copy, very happy to have it.

5 of 5 Love on the Rocks March 2, 2017
Reviewer: Dean Brierly from Studio City, CA United States
Fascinating film from Gabin's transitional early fifties period when he was re-establishing his box office stature. Interesting use of flashbacks to tell the story of a disintegrating marriage (predating 1967's "Two for the Road" with Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney). Gabin and Morgan are excellent, but Daniel Gelin almost steals the film with his sympathetic loser. Great print and subtitles.
