Another super Italian film from Movie Detective. Every bit as good as I remembered it. And a dream cast to boot, with the exception of Pierre Cressoy [sorry Pierre], who is better suited for sword-and sandal pictures. It was great to see Maj Britt again, with her lovely pussycat eyes. Wish there were more of her films, "Cavalleria Rusticana" for instance. I rather admire Italian film makers for not being afraid to criticize some of the social ills in their own country, for pointing the finger at themselves so to speak. This film is a mixture of sarcasm, wit, irony, humor and tragedy, well put together by the expert team of Steno and Monicelli. It also has a nifty ending. And Marina Vlady at 15!
