When nightclub singer Betty Bell (Dora Doll) is found dead in a phone booth, her lover (Raymond Pellegrin) quickly becomes the prime suspect. He flees with the help of the nightclub's manager and a young singer, Juliette (Marina Vlady). As the three of them hide in Juliette's apartment, they mull over the facts of the case and soon have their own suspicions as to who actually killed Betty.
