This is a region-free DVD+R without case or artwork.

In Italian with English subtitles. Also known as Beautiful but Dangerous and The World's Most Beautiful Woman.

In the last stages of his career, veteran American director Robert Z. Leonard dabbled in international productions. One of the best-distributed of these was the Gina Lollobrigida vehicle La Donna Più Bella del Mondo. Lollobrigida is cast as Lina Cavaliari, an earthy Italian peasant who becomes a world-renowned opera singer. She also matriculates into something of a mantrap, making up for all the years that she was spurned and ignored by her "betters." One of Lina's many swains is played by none other than Robert Alda. La Donna Più Bella del Mondo benefits immeasurably from Mario Bava's sumptuous cinematography. And as a bonus, La Lollo does her own singing!

5 of 5 Great service, high quality DVD September 7, 2023

This will be a gift to my wife, so I am waiting to watch the whole movie, but I want to comment on your wonderful service. Your site was the only place where I could find this old classic from the 1950s WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES.

I watched several sections to check the DVD, to be sure it would play on my old equipment: audio and video quality are excellent. I'm looking forward to watching the movie with my family.

Gina Lollobrigida, Mario Bava ( Superb Cinematography ), this film has it all. A beautiful
transfer and with English Subtitles. All that is needed now
is a Blu Ray release with also the original English Audio as an option.

First rate print! I saw this film in a poorly dubbed version at the close of the 1950s. Indeed any dubbing is anathema. Now, at last, decently sub-titled in English! Thanks.

The film, of course, is charming romantic fluff and unlikely to bear any real resemblance to Lina Cavalieri's life but so what? It's a biopic, in Italian, directed by an old Hollywood hand. Lollobrigida looks superb and her singing voice provides stunning evidence of her operatic training. I have the songs on a French EP and on an Italian Timaclub CD tribute to Cavalieri but the sound quality on this DVD is even better. Thanks for making this neglected film available. And congratulations on such a speedy service!

3 of 5 The Great Gina. May 10, 2016

Lollobrigida shines brilliantly here - a star turn. I'm only familiar with her work in four movies, and her acting impresses me as convincing, solid, if not top tier (Masina, Loren), except for this film wherein she displays absolute star presence in a grand production. It's that je ne sais quoi that divides mortal and deity. A particularly entertaining scene, for which I most value this film, is her sword duel with a diva nemesis.
