Directed by Helmut Käutner. At the hotel Eden in Lugano, one of many world conferences is taking place - conferences which are organized every year mainly to ensure its participants have a good time. Suddenly, a young manicurist, Kitty ends up playing an important role at the conference. Because she wants to make herself seem interesting, she seeks out new friends and shows little regard for being truthful about her profession. She meets a journalist looking for new things to write about; and she meets an English finance minister. She lies to the reporter, telling him she’s the minister's secretary. When the minister finds out, he believes he can use Kitty's ambition to his own ends...

Quick, witty, romantic -and political- comedy. Great fun with some likable performances
