Purif (Daliah Lavi), is a sexually uninhibited woman in a small, conservative Italian village. When her lover Antonio reveals that he has become engaged to another woman, an enraged Purif tricks him into drinking wine she has enchanted with black magic. Antonio's wedding is filled with ominous portents, and Purif flees the city, denounced as a witch by the locals. Alone and on the run and alone in the superstitous countryside, her troubles are only just beginning...

Part semi-documentary, Italian neo-realism and psychological horror with stunning performance from the female lead... Great black-and-white photography as well... Well worth catching.
