Extremely well directed by Bertrand Blier.A Jew spy named Guerin is being tracked down by the French Secret Service.A doctor,Bernard Blier,is compromised by his chance acquaintance with Guerin.Bruno Cremer looks exactly the same playing the French agent as he did playing the same role in Espion `Leve-Toi 15 years later.A beautiful ending. No bullshit.Guerin is terminated.Maybe the doctor and his daughter will be terminated later maybe not. #2 L 'etrange Monsieur Victor A helluva film, due mainly to the brilliant Charles Spaak script. In any American film of the era after the murder weapon,a cobbler's awl,is found the remainder of the film would have consisted of the excruciatingly boring arrest, investigation, trial, imprisonment, and escape of the cobbler.Spaak's script skips immediately over all of this. And the last thing on the cobbler's mind after he does escape is trying to find out who really commited the crime, which makes for a much more intetesting film.
