A man (Sacha Guitry) leaves his wife on the pretext of having to attend an urgent meeting. His wife (Jacqueline Delubac) profits from his absence by allowing another man, a lawyer, to spend a night of passion with her. The next day, the wife is horrified when her husband returns sooner that she expected. However, her husband has worries of his own and appeals to the lawyer to provide him with an alibi for the night that has just passed...
