This is a region-free DVD-R without case or artwork.

In Russian with English subtitles.

The original Russian title is "Odnazhdy Nochyu." This film, with Barnet as actor and director, was thought to be long lost before its rediscovery only a decade ago. Shot in 1944, it allegorically tells the story of a patriotic Russian schoolgirl who, upon witnessing the German invasion of her hometown, helps to hide several Russian soldiers amidst the real life ruins of war-torn Stalingrad. A daring film in its portrayal of a defiant Russian community and of the consequences of such resistance.

Compelling war film, starkly filmed gripping realism with its setting among the ruins of  Volgograd. This was a stronghold of Russian resistance, who became justly famous for their victory during the Battle of Stalingrad against the German Army in World War II . The film is a moving dramatic account, a tribute to human resilience and the triumph that followed.
A rare film treat thanks so much MD...
