The American title of this film is "Marriage a la Mode." Rex Harrison is The Constant Husband in this delightful British comedy. It all begins when amnesia victim Charles Hathaway (Harrison) tries to reconstruct his past with the aid of psychiatrist Llewellyn (Cecil Parker). Our hero would have been better off had his memory remained lost: Llewellyn discovers that he's had seven wives -- simultaneously! Lady lawyer Chesterman (Margaret Leighton) tries to keep Llewellyn out of jail, though in fact he'd prefer incarceration to multiple matrimony. Of the seven spouses, Kay Kendall (the real-life Mrs. Rex Harrison) stands out with a sparkling comic characterization.

A rare to see gem that's fun (if not all that funny).  Harrison, as always, first in wit.

Very enjoyable movie.  It's a tongue in cheek account of a serial bigamist who manages to be agreeable to the viewer. Nothing is meant to taken seriously here; no sociology lessons involved, it's just fun on its own terms.

Referring to the latest list of films emailed to customers:
I will review this list carefully, but I have to tell you, and you can use this quote any way you like, I was unprepared for the unprecedented picture and sound quality of my first order from you of The Constant Husband. This 71 year old film looked and sounded as good as if it had been mastered by Twilight Time or Criterion. Amazingly fast shipment of as I’ve said remarkably high quality mastering. And at such a great price.

Rex Harrison and supporting staff do wonderful job. Kay Kendall looks very lovely. This version does have the British film lead in of townspeople speaking Welsh which was cut in the American release, helps movie to make more sense. Very enjoyable.
