This is the film where Saura became Saura. It's an often hard to watch existential tale of 3 pro-Franco war vets who go on a hunting trip, and lose their minds.
The dialogue in this picture is crisp and lean, not a word is wasted - everything connects, everything carries multiple meanings.
However, animal lovers beware! The rabbit hunts are brilliantly staged, but sickening. I don't believe it was was done as bloodlust exploitation, there's a reason for it. Never-the-less it's a sticking point for many viewers.
