I bought the 'Hollywood' series from this site on the advice of a fellow film buff. These are excellent copies of all thirteen episodes and far better than my previous box set. Good service, too, with a speedy despatch to the UK. Highly recommended seller and product, thanks!

Before I give you my review, this documentary series, every film student to watch it, it's the most amazing, incredible history of early cinema with interviews and people working in the silent days of cinema, it's truly an epic work - NOW THE REVIEW - I have been looking for this series in good resolution for many years, I was on a heading of buying this on laserdisc and transferring it across to digital formats at the cost of hundreds of pounds when I found this on line, the DVD is exactly what I was after a direct copy from laserdisc and the best resolution you're going to get, considering this is from the 1980s, this is excellent, so I am super happy with this purchase, a great find and a very happy customer.

I have had a copy of this in very low resolution. Then on eBay, I found a laserdisc of this series, my plan was to purchase the laserdisc and have a company digitally retain these episodes. I was about to pay hundreds of pounds, because this series is so excellent. BUT THEN I FOUND THIS it was exactly what I was looking - already digitally restored from the laserdisc, if you're looking for this series, this is the best you're gonna get, it's a great copy, I hope one day that the BFI will release this wonderful piece of cinema history in HD. Every person who studies film history should watch this series.

Excellent service! Best quality transfer I have seen in this series since I foolishly sold my laser disc set years ago. The Hollywood series is one of the greats, required viewing for anyone interested in cinema history. This is the version to own.
